Northstar Bison
Grass Fed Quality
Cameron, WI - After growing up on family farms, Lee and Mary Graese had no desire to return to farming after they were married - but the thought of raising their children in a ranch setting intrigued them.
Combining their passions for healthy food and living with their backgrounds in nutrition, wellness, and physical fitness only made sense as well. In 1994, the decision was made to purchase two bison to start their hobby farm, and Northstar Bison was born.
Since then, Northstar has transitioned from a hobby to a business, by relocating to a farm with more acreage and forging partnerships with like-minded farmers. The Northstar Bison family has grown over the years into a true family affair.
Why Bison?
Bison is low in fat and calories when compared with other cuts of meats. It is an excellent source of protein high in B-vitamins, iron, selenium, and zinc.
Why Northstar?
Northstar Bison are pasture-raised, with the herd rotated every few days. They do not use growth hormones or antibiotics. Grazing land is not treated with herbicides or chemical fertilizers - they rely on the animals to redistribute seed and fertilize. Even the harvest is peaceful.
