Vern's Cheese is located about 2 hours up the road from Basics Co-op in Chilton, WI.
For more than 55 years, the Knoespel family has been providing Wisconsin cheese to their customers. Vern and Edith Knoespel started Vern's Cheese on March 1, 1964. They had one truck, rented cooler space, and ran the wholesale business out of their home.
In 1967 they purchased a small warehouse in rural Chilton. With four small children, Vern and Edith would pack up the family car to deliver orders to customers. Vern’s is now a multi-generational family business!
