Century Sun Oil was founded in 2009 in Pulaski, Wisconsin.
This 5th generation once-dairy farm turned organic has been in the same family since 1882! Owners Dale and Pam Johnson started out with just 12 acres. They now contract with other local organic farmers to grow 400 acres of sunflowers.
What makes their sunflowers so special?
Most sunflowers grown in Wisconsin are sold as bird seed. Century Sun Oil contains high levels of omega 9 oleic acid as well as a high level of vitamin E, an antioxidant. Besides having nutritional value, the oleic acid and vitamin E work together to give the oil a high smoke point of 400 degrees Fahrenheit.
